Called to serve in the Washington Seattle Mission July 2013-July 2015

Week 16

(4 Nov. 2013)

One of my favorite quotes:

“Don’t you quit. You keep walking, you keep trying. There is help and happiness ahead. Some blessings come soon, some come late, and some don’t come until heaven. But for those who embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ, they come. It will be alright in the end. Trust God and believe in good things to come.”  Jeffery R. Holland

For halloween once we saw trick or treaters we had to stop proselyting. We visited  members for 15 minutes each from 6-9pm. So we watched one family do a cool scary trick or treat thing in front of their home and they scared people pretty good, We also went to another members and had homemade doughnuts and talked to non-members and members who came over, then we went to the Mansell’s and talked with their family for like and hour and 15 minutes.  The mission has some special Thanksgiving day activities planned for us.

It is cold here and it hasn’t rained as much as they say, it actually is sunny right now and 2-3 days a week it has been sunny, except the other day it was super windy and the power in 75% of our area went out and it looked like a zombie apocalypse.  🙂 They say that in a week or so it will get grey and cloudy every day until march.

I have another spiritual moment, its about prayer. So this  last week we had no success  at all, had no lessons, no referrals, no new investigators, and so after dinner last friday it was my turn to pray and I really wanted to find new people to teach, so I prayed and specifically asked with all my heart that we would find a new investigator, and later that night the first door we knocked became a new investigator and then we found 4 more potentials that same night; and it happened again they next day! Prayer is powerful.

What are some fun things you did while tracting, street contacting etc as a missionary to break the ice? What are some things you did that might help us find more people to teach that you did on your mission?

Here’s a thought from me: The earnest seekers that ask, shall receive, those who have faith and diligence after they receive will find the hidden fruits.  Elder Chadwick
